Hyaluronic acid - Restylane and Juvederm
Early signs of aging such as volume loss and fine or deep lines can be managed with fillers. NEU uses temporary, absorbable fillers only.
There are two types of filler: temporary (absorbable) and permanent (non-absorbable). Temporary fillers are gradually broken down by the body over 1-2 years and include hyaluronic acid, collagens and poly-L-lactic acid. They are generally considered safe because of their absorbability. Commonly used brands are Restylane and Juvederm.
NEU’s preferred brand is Restylane - a clear, non-animal-based, biodegradable gel composed of hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body. Originally developed in Sweden, it is known worldwide for its quality and reliability.
We do not recommend permanent fillers such as liquid silicone. They carry significant long-term side effects: granuloma formation and eventually permanent deformity of the injected part. Worse, they can migrate far from where they were injected.
Treatment areas include tear troughs, the peri-orbital region, cheeks, nasolabial folds, lips and chin.
Techniques and options
Restylane Skinboosters (Vital Light)
The smallest particle size in the Restylane range, intended to correct fine lines and wrinkles. Often used around the mouth and eyes. Injected just below the skin to make skin appear firmer.
Restylane Perlane
The largest particle size available. Corrects deep lines, folds and wrinkles, and adds fullness to lips, chin and cheek. Recommended for deep nasolabial folds.
Restylane SubQ
A NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid) based gel that instantly adds volume. Most often used to contour the cheeks and chin where volume has been lost with age.
Fat transfer
Fat extracted from the hips, tummy or thighs is washed in a closed sterile environment then re-injected into facial folds, deep crevices, or areas needing volume replacement such as the cheeks or chin.
