Botox

Botulinum toxin - wrinkles, contouring and hyperhidrosis

Botox or botulinum toxin injection is one of the most common non-surgical cosmetic procedures worldwide. It is popular because it can improve the appearance of wrinkles without the risk of complications, side effects and long recovery periods usually associated with invasive surgical procedures.

Treatment requires only multiple injections of Botox in very small volume - typically 0.05 to 0.1ml per site - into the muscles of facial expression. The most commonly treated areas are the forehead (horizontal lines), glabella (vertical lines between the brows) and crow’s feet (lines at the sides of the eyes).

The procedure takes just a few minutes and leaves only very small needle marks which disappear after a few hours.

Beyond wrinkles, Botox is used at NEU for contouring - masseter muscle or jaw reduction, arms and calves - and for hyperhidrosis control of the underarms, hands and feet.
